Từ ngày 1/8 Hiệp định EVFTA chính thức có hiệu lực, theo đó, nhiều mặt hàng chủ lực của Việt nam sẽ được hưởng lợi từ hiệp định này. Có thể nói, đây là cơ hội lớn của các doanh nghiệp Việt trong bối cảnh đầy khó khăn do đại dịch Covid-19 quay trở lại lần 2 và đang diễn biến phức tạp
Việt Nam có lợi thế về sản xuất, xuất khẩu nông, lâm thủy sản còn EU lại có nhu cầu lớn về các mặt hàng này với giá trị nhập khẩu chiếm 8.4% tổng giá trị nhập khẩu hàng năm. Do vậy, dư địa tăng trưởng xuất khẩu vào EU vẫn rất lớn.
Theo Hiệp hội Chế biến và Xuất khẩu thủy sản Việt Nam ( VASEP), xuất khẩu thủy sản từ Việt Nam sang EU đang đứng trước cơ hội cực lớn, khi doanh nghiệp có thể tiếp cận một thị trường tiêu thụ thủy sản khổng lồ với mức tiêu thụ trung bình đạt mức 22.03 kg/người, cao hơn 5.34 kg so với mức trung bình của thế giới.
Cùng với đó, EVFTA sẽ là hiệp định có tác động mạnh nhất, tạo một bước ngoặt lớn về cơ cấu thị trường cho mặt hàng tôm của Việt Nam. Cụ thể, gần 50% số dòng thuế đang có thuế suất cơ sở 0-22% trong đó phần lớn thuế cao từ 6 -22%, sẽ được giảm về 0%. Khoảng 50% số dòng thuế còn lại có thuế suất cơ sở 5.5- 26% sẽ được về 0% sau từ 3 -7 năm
Với ngành gỗ, EU hiện là thị trường nhập khẩu đồ gỗ lớn thứ 2 thế giới, mặc dù Việt Nam là 1 trong 5 quốc gia chế biến, xuất khẩu gỗ lớn nhất thế giới nhưng kim ngạch xuất vào EU vẫn còn khiêm tốn, chỉ chiếm hơn 1% tổng nhu cầu nhập khẩu đồ gỗ hằng năm của thị trường này.
Tuy nhiên, khi EVFTA có hiệu lực, các nhà nhập khẩu EU có thể sẽ ưu tiên mua sản phẩm gỗ Việt Nam để được cắt giảm thuế, khi đó, giá thành đồ gỗ Việt Nam tại EU sẽ giảm và hấp dẫn người tiêu dùng châu Âu hơn.
